Am I but a thoughtless memory
Emptied from your mind
A longing voice now silenced still
With this passing of time

Has the continuance now ended
The ending just begun
The words we've shared, the hearts we've wanted
For will they not be won

Has your hand slipped far and free
From my clinging grasp
Is your mind at comfort here
Not living in this past

Has my luster faded
Leaving only tarnished dreams
Do you not hear my whispering voice
Even though it shouts loud screams

I wonder how one lets go their hold
Of one they've never held
And why is it although I'm told
It's so very hard to tell

For I've tried to comfort with my words
But I have only failed to fast
I've given all that I know how
For a love I only wanted to last

Now divided we have fallen
From our reaching stars
Walls forced from our fear of love
Have left us only scars
